Hargreaves II is the new canal boat for the Hargreaves Narrowboat Trust in Nuneaton
Constructed by the experts at Ortomarine in Worcestershire, Hargreaves II is the new generation of narrow boat for the trust and utilises our Lynch Swordfish Double Marine Drive System for a solution they can rely on.
Alongside our drive system, the boat has 24 batteries and 12 solar panels that they use for both eco-friendly propulsion and heating.
A charitable trust helping the local community
The Hargreaves Narrowboat Trust in Nuneaton helps the local community and local charitable organisations by providing trips along the canal. As a charitable trust, they were awarded funds by both grants and The National Lottery Community Fund that they invested in a new electric canal boat.
When it came to planning their new boat, they decided the Hargreaves II should use electric propulsion as a way to help the canals reduce their carbon footprint. Their new boat uses no gas or diesel so is ideal in helping move to a greener future.
